This is my second year for this plant. The first year it did grow a couple tall stalks and they did indeed flop. While that was initial...Read Morely bad, over time they rooted in and multiplied. The plant retains its green leaves all winter in our garden. Our plant has grown huge now since last years flop and it's looking really good. I'm very happy with this plant. It's also worth noting that many penstemons flop so I wouldn't blame just this plant.

Maybe it will get over all the tinkering in the greenhouse that got it to my garden, but next year, it shapes up or ships out. Does re-bloom in the fall, and looks good with purple asters, sedum, and pale yellow coreopsis.

I love this plant, I wish I got more when I bought 3 of them, it is wery showy and happy in morning sun, afternoon shade.

Various sites claim this plant is hardy to zone 5. I just bought one this week & the label said hardy to zone 3.
