The first couple of flowers looked like plain little yellow and white flowers. But as the plant kept blooming, the flowers bloomed back and forth in both yellow and orange, and the mature flowers developed a very distinctive "porcelain" or "china" quality that none of our other hibiscus have. The typical flower is soft yellow with a white center, pink blush, a red eye, and orange rays and edges that roll creating an edge like a china dish. Sometimes the flower is much more orange, and we've seen the plant bloom with both an orange and yellow flower at the same time. So although this is not a typially spectacular hibiscus flower, it's an interesting one. The bush is upright and slender. All in all it's quite a delicate hibiscus. Porcelain Doll's parents are Key Lime Pie and Fifth Dimension, two hibiscus that also change colors. From HVH in 2008.
