From the 1928 Lee R. Bonnewitz Iris and Peony catalog of Van Wert, Ohio:
PROSPERO (Yeld). This is, in our estimation, one of the very best Irises in cultivation. It is healthy, tall, vigorous, of good growing habit, and we think also, very beautiful. It is a blended violet bicolor, with smoothly rounded falls, and it is in a class with ASIA both in color and shape. Standards are pale lavender flushed yellow at base, falls red-purple with light shading at margin, 40 to 48 inches. $1.00
