I usually leave the flowers on the bush where they last long. They do have long enough stems for cutting. I have about 70 rose bushes and this is my favorite yellow with dark leaves. Given the last two very cold winters, I have protected all my roses with rose collars filled with mulch. Aperitif has survived well for me and has lovely dark green leaves that are not susceptible to disease at least using systemic disease and insect control.

It did not winter well here in Wisconsin, even when buried in ground, and I lost it during its third winter.
I do not recommend this one for growing here in the North. I would have given it a Negative rating except that I have trouble growing yellows at all, and this one at least lasted three years.
