The plant leaves stays pretty ...Read Morelow and the flowers come off tall wispy stems which make the plant just pop. I planted these 3 plants in an existing (picnic table) garden where they continued to flower. They do enjoy deadheading and I recommend it for continued flowering. I dead head the flowers first as you will get anywhere from 2-4 flowers per stem and you will see a new flower head under your old. After the stem is spent I would trim the stem down to the base of the plant and in return the plant would send up another stem with flowers.

May 2012- I did lose 2 of the 3 plants over the winter and I will admit it is probable due to my soil in this flower bed. I am amending it this year and hope the sole surviving one makes it till 2013.

June 2012-I did repurchase these plant from the same store and moved it to another brand new flower bed (The Lilac) and these plants are doing great! I love the red and how vibrant it is, this year I combined it with the same but yellow flowering variety and it makes a striking coloration!
