Originally described as Agave brunnea in 1891 by Sereno Watson in the Proceedings of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.this plant...Read More was transferred to Manfreda by Joseph Nelson Rose in 1903. It was later transferred to Polianthes by Lloyd Herbert Shinners in Sida in 1966 but I do not believe this has been widely accepted.
