It could be pruned to be kept smaller, but you'd have to cut off a lot of the flowers and it never seems to stop blooming! In my garden, this is the most vigorous and floriferous of the "crested" series. The color isn't really violet (it's shades of pink.) These plants seem to appreciate warm days and cool nights.
