Multiple buds on the stalk. Deep, clear blue, ruffled, self, shoulders whitish with, I don't know....leopard markings? Don't know what the proper term is. Beard begins deep orange for a bit but the end of the beard is pale blue. At first bloom of the season, from ground to top of bloom, it stands 37" tall and has four additional buds within the top 12 inches of the stalk. I have these in two beds, one gets full sun all day and the other gets morning sun and afternoon shade. Both are tall, strong, gloriously multiple and long blooming clumps of that gorgeous blue. These irises will be one of the last one's in my garden to stop blooming, and I've had blooms right up to mid to late May.
