The shape of the flowers and the...Read More leaves of the Pink Tulip Tree do not even come close to matching the Liriodendron (tulip tree). This is another example of how we confuse common names and end up with something that simply confuses the gardener when selecting plants, trees, and shrubs. My question is how and why did it get this common name? I have not grown this plant but placed a negative comment due the plant's common name. The ony thing that these two trees have in common is the family name.
