I found it blooming in California three years ago where it was one of the splendid varieties in Mrs. McCullagh's garden at Los Gatos. I have given it particular attention for the last few years, and last year I thought it deserved a rating of 90 or more. It has three rows of very wide pink guard petals surrounding a row of splendid golden stamens, inside of which are a beautiful collar and wide central petals of lighter color and of the most excellent quality. It has splendid stiff stems which are able to carry to perfection the large, light weight blooms, so that it has great value, not only as an exhibition flower of the highest grade, but also as a landscape variety of exceeding beauty. I am trying to build up a stock of it and so will sell only a few plants. $6.00
