Highly ornamental form, absolutely lovely. Seems to be a slow starter growth-wise, although as stated, made it through the winter like a champ, so we'll see! I planted mine situated where it may stay small, or grow as large as it wishes, either way will be fine. Too soon to tell of this year's growth rate, but am impressed it dealt with the Great Lakes winter 2013-2014 and came out like a trouper!! Sort of scant on blossoms this spring, but the form of the tree and it's sweet little leaves were what I fell in love with when I found and purchased it. It is a total charmer, just love it. Receives sun for most of the day. I lost some other taller plantings from the winter, so will correct this or move it to a slightly shadier locale. So, just a toddler in the yard yet, but made it through winter like a champ along the Lake Erie coast!
