Once this happens we would annually see hundreds of cedar waxwings swarm our 25' tall bush and over two to three days devour almost every single berry. They would completely ignore the very similar berries on the adjacent burford hollies. If you want to attract birds including robins,etc., you should try this shrub. The problem is it is very hard to find in the nurseries and will require some searching. We have moved to the N. Ga. mtns and are looking to find some ourselves so we can relive our Marietta, Ga. experience with this tree. You will like it. I have posted a photo showing a cedar waxwing waiting to eat some lusterleaf berries. Follow up in May 2015...Located thirty of these shrubs at Twin Branch nursery in Woodstock, Ga. so we purchased and installed four of them in our new mtn. property in McCaysville Ga. We hope to eventually repeat our Marietta Ga. experience attracting the birds.
