Because of this the plant has a very graceful architectural appearance and in spite of its height does not take up a lot of space. I find that unless the foliage is kept dry with good air circulation it tends to be the victim of black spot. It likes bright light and has done well summering outdoors here where is exposed a few hours of direct sun and then dappled shade for the rest of the day. I grow it in a standard orchid bark in a net basket and keep it moist at the roots. The flower buds have a wonderful substance that makes them just as beautiful as the narrowly opening, almond scented, creamy white flowers.
