Eggplant 'Galine'

This is what market customers expect an eggplant to look like, perfect glos...Read Moresy dark-purple skin, smooth, not too large if picked frequently (which you will have to during the summer months, especially in the south). I've gotten more comments in the beauty of these eggplants on my market tables than anything else I sell.

Made the productivity of two hybrid asian eggplant varieties the next row over seem sad. I was swimming in eggplant with one 250 foot row on plastic. Every other day we would harvest 60 to 80lbs of eggplant. I will be cutting back this year on eggplant because of how much this one variety produces. Produces heavily well into the fall as well if you plant late. Make sure you have an outlet for all of the eggplant you'll be rewarded with from this plant, it may overwhelm you if you plant too much.

Happy with these plants, and will be planting again next year. Decent yield of small/medium sized bell shaped eggplant, no bitterness.
