Dwarf Goat's Beard 'Johannisfest'

This is a hybrid between A. dioicus and A. aethusifolius, intermediate in height and other characteristics, bred in Germany by Ernst Page...Read Morels.

The RHS accepted name is 'Johannifest'. The feast of St. John is June 24, when this plant is in flower.

For a few years I wasn't sure if my Korean Goat's Beard were huge because of favorable conditions or was it a unknown hybrid - now I have...Read More found it's name! It strongly resembles Korean Goat's Beard in foliage and flowers except that on average it grows two feet in height, then flowers are almost 2 and a half feet. Will thrive in part shade and woodland shade, will take years before it's divideable and does not seed itself.
