Protea curvata has a thick mass of velvety, rose pink flowers blooms that are surrounded by deep red-black velvety bracts that appear from mid-winter to early spring. The tips of the flowers twist into a neat spiral in the bud stage. It is a summer rainfall species and prefers serpentine soil.
