The flowering period goes from early spring till winter. The bright yellow flowers are born on stems that are 5 to 6 feet tall on 1 to 2 foot clumps of 2 to 3 ft tall plants.
This is one of the Bush Gems that was a result of the hybridizing program started by the late Dr. Merv Turner of Monbulk, Victoria. He started in the 1970s and in 1986 released the first of these new disease resistant anigozanthos, just 2 years before his death. His research into this hybridization program was to find disease resistant varieties including those resistant to Ink Disease so that Anigozanthos could be used successfully in the florist and nursery trade.
