Kalanchoe thyrsiflora leaves have a heavy white powedery tomentum on them that makes them look whitish. Most plants sold as Kalanchoe thyrsiflora are indeed Kalanchoe luciae.

I Do know that if kept inside in low light it gets leggy and grows a long trunk. Remember, this is a desert plant and needs strong light! When it gets that strong sunlight, it will color up as the days get shorter.
