Small serrated leaves typica...Read Morel of the Elms with a very thin border of creamy white, most noticeable when the leaves are in the intermediate stage of development. They like partial sun (afternoon sun best) and moderately moist surroundings. I use a fish based fertilizer diluted to 50% strength once a month, (careful with dissolved salts if bonsai) and a similarly weakened 7-9-5 fertilizer once a week. Monthly trimming is necessary due to its growth rate. This is great since it also allows the tree to be "redefined" in a relatively short period.
