They grow fast and will bloom the first year from seeds. Again, full sun and well-drained soil are essential. They require very little water and care and can be therefore used in Xeriscaping, as ground cover, among cacti, in rock gardens and containers.
Sowing recommendations: during autumn, in a mix of equal parts of compost and sharp river sand. Do not cover the seeds. The seedlings can be picked and transplanted once they have two true leaves.
This Oxalis species is a good groundcover (accepts saline soil and wind) to be grown at the seaside.
