About a month...Read More ago I started them in flats inside my heated greenhouse. They are starting to come up beautifully. As soon as the frost period around here is over, they will be placed in their new home outside on our front hill.
Since Dave's Garden site had no real information on this plant I filled in some of the unknown spaces in the description. Swallowtail gives the following info on their seed packet: this dependable favorite forms mats of gray-green leaves 8 inches tall and 16 inches wide. They cover themselves with showy clusters of small bright pink flowers in March and April. Prefers afternoon shade in hot climates. Perrenial.
Press seeds into soil, but do not cover; seeds need light to germinate. Kept at 70 degrees F., germination is in 14-25 days. Transplant into the garden 9-12 inches apart.
