Most flowers do not set fruit, and most of those that set do not mature. The exterior color of the fruit is woody when ripe, and the arils are just off white tinged towards pink. The large seed makes it an unpleasant sensation to bite down on the arils. The fruit is not worth eating. I was hoping the second year would have fruit with flavor, but was just the same.
Recommended only for those who hate pomegranates and want to convince others that they are a worthless fruit. The only upside is that they may not stain your clothing - but why worry about that in a fruit that only brings dismay.
