No other S. microphylla, and very few New World Salvias period, survived the winter (of 2017--2018).
The bloom.color is pink (as the picture shows), not blue, though there may be a trace of mauve or violet in that pink.
The species itself is edible (flowers used as garnishes, leaves brewed into tea/tisane in Mexico): "mirto de montes." This variety has nice smelling foliage (thus not a hybrid with S. greggii, which though beautiful, has mildly skunky foliage), so presumably is also.
