Forsythia, Border Forsythia 'Show Off'

The flowers appear more delicate like that of a cherry tree because of the big size of the blooms. It does bloom from ground to tip on any growth.

I have only one issue that has attacked one of my plants. Stem blight continued to wipe one plant out, branch by branch. Pruning and sanitizing didnt stop it from spreading and taking out branches all the way to the ground. The best thing to do is if you notice a branch wilting remove it and treat it immediately to prevent it from spreading. The plants won't wilt from drought under proper care so if you see wilting, get er done.

Update June 2012* Coming out of a spring some 75% of one shrub was killed to the ground by stem blight. I have noticed that fungus, in general, is a problem in my back yard as it faces south on a hill with a 1' rise at the end of it to go up to an alley. This seems to create a higher humidity environment where I get diseases and severe powdery mildew on plants even in times of drought and low humidity according to the weather service. If you notice signifcant powdery mildew issues on your plants I would recommend against planting this forsythia. I removed all my forsythia to try something hopefully easier.
