In all that time this r...Read Moreose thrived and bloomed continuously in warm weather. Many beautiful dark red roses. I let it grow taller than most people would. I cut off the old dead wood every few years. It made it through high heat, drought, below zero weather, deep snows, humidity and warm sunny days. Never disappointed me. The dark green leaves even looked good when other rose leaves did not. Handled pruning without a problem.

The second grew very vigorously in true grandiflora form. It was more winter-hardy than other hybrid teas, grandifloras, or floribundas, although I did box it up and bury it in ground to get it through the winter. But its color was poor. It was advertised as a red rose, but mine was not red: it was somewhere halfway between red and pink and was decidedly unattractive. I kept the rose for several years because of its hardiness and growth habit, but finally culled it because I was tired of its ugly color.
