An endem...Read Moreic Texas native, this smalll vine can be found growing on boulders and shrubs in the South Texas and Edwards Plateau Regions. It needs support or something to grow upon because it does not have tendrils. Bearded Swallow-Wort produces 1/8"-1/4" wide, very fuzzy, sweet scented flowers with a bulbous tube from March through July. It is a butterfly larval host:and attracts attracts the varigated fritillary butterfly.
