It is very underrated, elusive and overlooked plant -- You can barely find it nowadays. But that's because it's more common in the Levant and Mediterranean islands than in the US, UK, Canada and Australia (i.e. anglophones). It's not a very "western" plant. It is native to South Africa.
The bright yellow flowers come out in mid autumn to winter. They are abundant and have a nice sweet, honey scent. The plant is said to grow to 4m tall, but they usually grow much bigger. My one is like 8 metres in width and has grown over 6 metres tall (or long, rather). And that cutting is not even 2 years old. It is very vigorous, fast grower. Also it's very easy to grow from cuttings. So it's strange how it isn't a popular plant here in Australia.
