The accepted method of increase is division of the roots, but they dislike root disturbance, so this must be done with care.
Here in zone 8, in the sun, they bloom steadily until frost. Container grown plants, planted in bloom into the open ground at the end of April, continued to bloom without flinching, though the weather was terrible for the next two and a half months.
Others planted in fall are only now (July) beginning to bloom.
