First few years grew well but died back to the ground over winter to resprout & grow quickly again mid-spring. As the roots matured, several large canes overwinter & foliage remains semi-evergreen if watered deeply on the odd warmer days of winter when dry. Roots have rambled some into the open garden & proved hardy there. Blooms extravagantly from late spring well past frost. Blooms beloved by hummingbirds & bees. The ivory parts are slightly iridescent, the blue rays intense & the fragrance sweet vanilla. Grows to 20' now & will cascade delightfully for a curtain effect on shorter supports. Tangerine colored 2" fruits in fall. Easily trained up posts & along arches . Adore this vine!
