My first one grew for 6 mos. before dying. I didn't pamper it however, and in retrospect I believe it needed more light. Second one is in a container, and is thriving. Snails will eat their way through the stem, as I learned with a large B. insignis, so containers work well.

However, their main differences are in floral details. Basically they are caudiciform stems topped with a rosette of leaves (deciduous here in southern California) and white flowers protruding from among the center of the rosettes. Lives on cliff edges primarily on Molokai.
