It has to be hardy to mid 20's as Mine growing outdoors here in the bay are unaffected by any cold we have gotten since i have had them. Fast grower, this must be a mountain tropical wherever it's natural habitat is. And no doubt this is a cultivar where the sp.is most likely all green. Does great as a patio potted plant. Break off a piece and stick in pot/ground for new plants.
Not a groundcover at 2-3 tall,not a shrub as it breaks apart very easily . It is what it is. You would be hard pressed to do a tropical style garden without Golden Mosaic somewhere in your collection.

It has survived outside overwinter, totally neglected, with no more damage than some browned leaf edges. (This area, Zone 9, did not experience a "hard" freeze this past winter). Now that spring is here, the plant is, once again, flourishing. In its pot, it seems to maintain its attractive, mounded shape. And the green and white leaves are very pleasing.
