I really like this strawberry variety. It is supposed to taste like a cross between strawberry and raspberry, thus the name strazzberry....Read More
It actually tastes like the name suggests. It is tart. I originally purchased my plants from Stark Bros, but haven't seen this variety listed in their catalog, since the new ownership.
We have alkaline soil, which tends to make fruits taste dull. This strawberry tastes fantastic even in our alkaline soil.
I'd imagine that in acidic soil, the tartness would be even stronger. It is a hardy little plant, and a great producer of berries. It does not reproduce itself as well as others I've grown, though.
For example, Pink Panda would set runners like crazy...this one hasn't set runners in going on 4 years now...I hope that changes, because I'd love to have more.

update:
I called Stark Bros today to inquire about the strazzberries. She said they were offered this year in the catalog, but are already out for the year! She said if you don't order in January, you miss out. Just thought I'd point this out, in case you'd like this variety...mark your calendar :0)
