The flower color was a good clear pink but hardly what I'd call fuchsia (which is usually a euphemism for magenta).
This is a woodland plant and needs some protection from the hottest sun. It's a great species for livening shady spots, where few plant flower in autumn.
Requires consistent moisture but also requires good drainage like the species---this is definitely not a plant for bogs or water gardens. Sitting in wet soil will kill it.
