This is my very first negative review on the Plant Files pages.
If a mad scientist crossed Geranium incanum (already an in...Read Morevasive species) with Kudzu the result would come close to this highly misbehaving cultivar.
This plant starts out lovely and airy with airy, silvery foliage.
Waves of lavender blooms then light up the foliage.
The unsuspecting gardener might think, at this point, that he/she has stumbled on the "ultimate perennial".
But wait.
From that point the plant starts to spread and spread -- alarmingly.
I have had plants cover a seven foot circle in just a few months.
Then the volunteers start appearing -- everywhere in the garden.
They all have deep taproots so that when you try to pull the plant up the roots very often break underground -- and resprout later.
A word to the wise.
Stay away from G. 'Sugar Plum'.
Unless you need a new challenge in the garden, that is.
Darker flower color than the species, which is native to South Africa.
Very fine-textured.
