This exceptionally tall cultivar reaches 4-5' in height. It usually needs some support from surrounding plants or from pea brush (leafless branched prunings from woody plants stuck in the ground in spring).
This species requires good drainage in winter to survive. Best on lean light/sandy loam soils. May sprawl where soil is too rich or in partial shade. May be short-lived even in good conditions.
