We had a warm winter, cool spring, and the tree is fruiting very nicely.

It looked good for about a month, then started losing leaves, dropping fruit, and looking like it might die. I just made sure it got water, and tried to let it rest. It had good amendments and fertilizer at planting. I gave some fish emulsion in November. In December it started to get new leaves, and has blossomed on the living branches. There are two or three slender branches that appear to be dead. I am happy to see this progress, does anyone have advice about pruning the dead branches? We are in Southern California, about five miles from the coast.
