I have perhaps a very cold hardy strain of this cactus. Survived a very cold winter here in Waterville, WA zone 6. Approx 3,000' elevatio...Read Moren. Good drainage is key. Had about 4' of snow on it for a few months and didn't seem to care. Plumped back up this spring and still green. No flower buds yet, only some of my opuntia and chollas are getting flower and pad buds so far. My pediocactus have already bloomed. It is approx. 3.5 in wide and 3 in tall. Not sure at what size this fellow blooms but assuming it will happen soon.
