After almo...Read Morest 10 years in my garden it is 6 feet tall and 10 feet wide with the stems growing in a graceful vase shape from a central crown. Although it is quite large, the feeling is open and airy even after it leafs out. It grows in all-day filtered shade under the high canopy of mature tulip trees. It took about a year to establish and since then I have not needed to fuss with it at all - no watering, no fertilizing, not even a need to prune it. I just leave the fall leaves in place as a mulch. The only disappointment has been that it is not fragrant, but that is far out weighed by its other virtues.
