The leaves are thin and smooth-textured. Flavor is just average. They are not the best for cooking, but do make an attractive addition to a fresh salad. This variety was advertised as being particularly early, but did not emerge or produce earlier than standard types for me. I personally prefer the flavor and thick juicy texture of a spinch like Tyee for example, but this one is nice if you are looking for visual variety.
