I read (here, actually) that it can grow up to 10 feet tall, so I will be planting it inground facing south next to a trellis. It will be the perfect size there. I had a Babara Hurst but it went berserk growing so large I could not go by it without ripping flesh.

An A+ plant in my book. Had mine about a year and it's still small, but no thorns on mine to date. I over-winter mine in a greenhouse in Frisco TX(8b), does great outside year round in SoCal(Sunset zone 23).
