Not so with this tough little compact beauty. Drought Hardy in the full sun & dry soil like a cactus ! I would recommend it to anybody over other aggressive ice plants.

It has trouble with summer -- probably because our heat in Central Phoenix is relatively humid for the desert and we also have warmer nights than outlying areas. Despite its reputation for frost tolerance, it doesn't seem to like winter lows in the 20s F.

I love this plant! It is compact and tidy and it looks wonderful if you place it next to a rock! They survived the winter here as it was ...Read Morenothing. And they bloom around late March with awesome pink flowers that cover the whole little thing! The best feature about this plant is that it is hard to the touch, almost like a living stone... I put it next to my collection of hardy Aloinopsis and they look wonderful next to each other! I would advice anybody to grow one of these!
