Number of problems which I need help with is :
My poincianas are beautifully healthy but have never flowered. They are south facing outside the house, in the summer the temperature is in the forties (centigrade!!), no frost in winter although some branches seem to die down, one is 18 years old (with a 1foot diameter trunk) and the other6 years old. I have pruned them some years, left them unpruned others. I have watered copiously and other years left them dry. I have fed them with fertilizer some years and others not. Still no flowers.
I should mention that my bore water has fairly high nitrate levels which is why I use fertilizer with high potassium and phosphates but no nitrogen. Flowering seems to be my biggest problem generally - my jaccaranda and brachychiton have not flowered yet either but they are only 3 years old.
Does anyone have any useful tips I can try?
