Some years you will get no aroma from it. Others, it will knock you over with it's wonderful apple-rose evening fragrance. I started this rose from a cut branch jabbed into the dirt and it's never looked back. In three years, here in zone six, it went from a little bit of a thing to a Volkswagen sized shrub 5ft. tall. I cut it in early spring to open up the tight grouping of canes, and as the season progresses I cut back the occasional crazy cane that reaches 9 ft. out into the yard overnight. It will get a bit of black spot, but other than that, you can't go wrong. Worth it's own island bed. Full sun, part shade. Laughs at winter!

I do not find it to be as floriferous as "The Fairy"....Read More Also, while the color is listed as red, I would characterize mine as more of a dark rose. I have an area of red and white roses. I planted the Red Fairy there surrounded by Mr Lincoln, Bergman, Tradescantia, etc. Surrounded by all of these reds, the Red Fairy "sticks out" as an obvious misfit. I think it will probably be a cute plant when I find it a more appropriate place in the garden. Just be advised that it may not be a true red.
