Growing season is sh...Read Moreort here in Black Hills, SD, but blooms reliably each year. It's in a partly shaded spot. It hasn't spread much, maybe 2-3 feet wide now and never has been divided. Blossom color seems to change a bit, sometimes light pink but have also seen it the color of Fleer's Double Bubble Gum (if you remember that). It gets pretty decent moisture, a bit more than most of the garden. Natural moisture here averages maybe 20" a year.

I have to cut them back periodically to keep their form neat looking. I have mine planted in full sun. I only fertilize with a layer of compost early spring, as I've read these should not be fertilized thereafter.
Cranesbill Geranium Macrorrhizum has a nicer groundcover habit that will fill in an area and remain neat in appearance, perfect for a formal or semi formal formal landscape.
