It was December 31st and the young plants were beginning to grow, temperature was about 60 F. there were not many seed pods left, but those that I collected seem to have viable seeds in them. I understand it to be very poisonous if eaten. It is a fascinating plant that I am hoping to be able to grow in the UK during the summer. The soil in which it was growing was undisturbed, and possibly quite poor in quality, although that's a guess, but in the same way that bindweed will happily cover other plants and what ever else it can prop itself on, I felt that this pipevine would be able to do the same. There was a good measure of shade where it was growing.
