Thick yellow bill with red spot in adult
Dark slate gray back

Habitat and Behavior:
Breeds in Gulf of California, Mexico. Occasionally wanders north to the Salton Sea in southern California. Usually seen alone or in small groups along the shore at the south end of the Salton Sea between June and September.
