My first encounter with this beetle. About 20mm long and was reluctant to move even when approached very closely.

Reluctant to move even when approached very closely, looking at that oversize abdomen probably not a great mover anyway.

Rather than move when approached closely this beetle pulls its head in and looks a bit like a bird dropping.
