Feeding on Pieris Forest Flame. They feed on Red & White Deadnettle and other small flowers such as Primula veris and Pulmonaria.

They move very quickly although in the picture it appears to be sat, you have to be quick!

The female looks more like a bumblebee, all black with brown pollen baskets. It moves very quickly from plant to plant.

The difference between A. plumipes and A. retusa is the hind-tibial spurs which are black on this species, brownish on A. retusa.
