A female Luna moth resting under a Canna leaf one day in July. Both male and female have feathery antennae but the male's is much fuller.

I live in Charlotte, NC and found this moth hanging onto the front column of my house. He hung on for three days and I was getting worried: Would he never fly away? Would he die hanging on to my front porch? Last night I did not turn on the porch light and this morning he was gone. I am grateful that he has found his way!

Found her midday down by the beach at Winans Lake in Hamburg, MI. She had crazy powerful legs as I had to move her to a bush due to foot traffic nearby. Go big bugs!
