Although this moth is called Black-waved Flannel moth, I like to use the other name, Crinkled Flannel moth. It just seems to fit better. Many of these moths come to my porch lights. May 31, 2004.

A later instar Crinkled Flannel moth caterpillar. These guys look just as plush and fuzzy as their adults, but don't let that plushness fool you. There are stinging spines underneath !
